When installing the distributor on a 3RZ engine the should be timed as usual on TDC compression stroke of the number one cylinder and the distributor rotor should be aligned with the number 1 cylinder of the distributor cap. (About the 1'oclock position). This was not correctly done and the rotor was installed in the region of 2/3 o'clock putting off the ignition timing and causing the P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance code.
