Electrical protection:
- from the polarity reversal;
- from the ground fault of the sensor signal output;
- from supplying voltage to the sensor’s signal output;
- the sensor case is not connected to the negative wire, so if the sensor is connected to the car body and the negative power wire is accidentally connected to the battery’s positive terminal, there will be no short circuit.
Sensor Design
The sensor case is made of aluminium alloy, which highly protects it from possible mechanical damage and external electromagnetic noise. The case coating is anodic blackening.
The soft microphone cable with a dense shielding braid is used as a signal cable. BNC is used as a sensor-oscillograph connector. The power cable is insulated in soft silicone. Clips are used for connecting to the automotive battery.
Under sensor development high emphasis has been placed on cables joint as this junction is damage-prone. Each of these joints includes a circuit board, which supports the loads as well as fixes the cable. Such solid joints prevent cable breakdown and increase its durability.
